Many thanks once more to Kerry Pendergast for such a thoughtful and tasteful write up. This can also be included in his excellent write up. It gives encouragement to all who suffer from this very difficult illness. After a while things do clear up completely.

Civil List Scientist

Dear Myron,

Please find below the latest pages of the film script ‘The Life of Myron Evans’.

The years from 1998 to 2003 were the most difficult years of Myron’s life and were years of severe illness which only gradually went away.  Myron had a case of reactive clinical (major severe) depression of a very severe type, although not the very worst.  Myron continued to produce a lot of work in these years showing his creativity and intellectual ability remained intact, but his work rate was reduced and only progressed at all through his determination to fight against the odds to keep going.  Myron’s second wife Larisa was a great help in getting him out of the depression completely, but the recovery was a slow process.  The clinical depression was not caused by any of the many attacks by pseudo scientists, even though their behavior obviously did not help.  The onset of clinical depression was actually caused by a combination of attacks on Myron and his first wife Laura throughout the years 1992 to 1998, and by their unsettled existence from 1988 to 1998.  Laura was sent hate mail by a man called Geoffrey, who eventually was effectively dismissed from his post as associate professor for his efforts, but not before the damage was done.  Myron had been subjected to a great amount of assault by hate mail and treated it with the contempt that it deserves, but the effect on his wife was a different matter and directly led to the breakup of his marriage and subsequent illness.  Myron continues to be subjected to cyber stalking and harassment, which is a sad reflection on the mentality of some members of academia who should know better.  It seems that an original thinker has to go through this nonsense with lesser individuals every generation.  From 1998 to 2001 Myron was isolated in Ithaca in a state of mind which meant left him unable to move for up to 22 hours a day.  The situation was impractical and became exacerbated in 2000 when Myron’s father died suddenly.  Despite being very ill herself, Myron’s mother moved back into their old cottage in Craigcefnparc and ready for Myron’s return.  Myron had hoped Laura would return to him, but after all hope of return had gone, Myron’s cousin Ellis Williams and his father Cen flew over to the USA in January 2001 and flew with Myron in tow back to the United Kingdom with Myron having had to abandon a lot of furniture in Ithaca.  This was the second time that furniture had been abandoned; the first was in 1995 on leaving Charlotte, but Myron had survived the first years of his depression and was now back in the familiar and friendly environment of his youth.          After arrival back in Wales, Myron would need to fight the clinical depression for two more years, up until spring 2003.  Ellis Williams and John James helped a lot by setting up the computers in Myron’s home, after they were shipped back from the States.  So Myron remained operational during those years, but in poor condition.  During this time of severe illness Myron continued to receive attacks from pseudo academics, but a lot of help from a growing band of more enlightened colleagues who were becoming increasingly appreciative of the scope and potential of Myron’s work. It is well known by now that these attacks were unscholarly. My mother died suddenly in August 2002, after the shock of my father’s death in 2000 and after a marriage of over fifty years. So from August 2002 it was a critical time, because I had to keep warm and dry despite being almost unable to move. In this time Cen and Ellis Williams helped a lot, as did John and the late Phyllis James.              Things improved markedly for Myron when his soon to be second wife Larisa arrived on the scene and set about the task of helping Myron back to full health.  Myron was delighted when Larisa arrived in January 2003, after having heard of his illness.  She could not understand why a distinguished scientist should be in such a condition.  After she arrived Myron was soon able to take his first walk for over two years..  After a lot of bureaucracy Larisa was granted a visa and arrived back again in March 2003.  At this time ECE theory was started.  Myron and Larisa had very little income but nevertheless somehow came through that critical time.  Sadly however, on April 22nd, 2003 Larisa’s mother died, and she returned to Latvia for the funeral, and about the same time Ellis’ mother Marbeth died of cancer.  Despite all this, things gradually got better and life returned to normality.  However, good fortune was now to enter Myron’s life as the full extent of the scientific breakthroughs Myron had made in his life were widely recognized together with their importance in allowing Einstein’s life work to be continued!        During 2003, life gradually improved for Myron and Larisa, who took long walks around the beautiful village of Craigcefnparc, and Myron was able to get fifteen papers published in ‘Foundations of Physics Letters’ on ECE theory, establishing an unprecedented worldwide impact.  Myron gradually managed to normalize life, bought a car and put behind him the dark days of the last few years.  In March 2004, Myron and Larisa were married in a civil ceremony witnessed by John James and his late wife Phyllis, and set out on a new life together.  Myron was still being virulently attacked by hate mail and so on, but was now having the last laugh as he could see that ECE was overwhelming the bigots.          In Spring 2005, out of the blue Myron received a letter form the Prime Minister’s Office appointing him to the Civil List in recognition of distinguished contributions to Britain in science, the first such appointment in science in over a century!  Myron and Larisa were also thrilled to receive an invitation to Buckingham Palace.  The British Government has always recognized Myron fairly, but some (by no means all) of the academic scene comes out of this in a bad way.  From 2005 onwards Larisa and Myron started to build up their cottage again from a virtually empty shell and Larisa’s daughters Kristina and Alina also arrived.  Kristina graduated B.A. in 2008 and her design is used now as the logo of Swansea Metropolitan University.  Alina started at Swansea Metropolitan University in the same year and is already producing impressive photography.  Myron’s new family are now well used to the sad behavior of some fringe pseudo academics and it has little effect on them except for bringing to the foreground the fact that education contains numerous individuals who are jealous of the work of others.          During the years 2005 to end of 2007 the ECE theory gathered great momentum through the conduit of aias and at the end of 2007 a great boost to all the efforts occurred when Francesco Fucilla arrived on the scene.  During 2005 and 2006 Myron had fought off some trivial criticisms by two aspiring, but limited German professors but the compelling truth of ECE theory left them in the shadows.  The Alpha Institute for Advanced Study was beginning to work efficiently as a team, and in 2007 AIAS and TGA merged to f
orm an enlightened school of thought in physics.              The year 2008 was one of great advance, the Gold Medal Ceremony was held at Craig y Nos Castle and on that date, 7th July, that Myron was awarded both armorial bearings and badge by the British Government.  Myron’s arms were featured by the Government in a newsletter that contained some Knights, the Civil List appointment being commensurate with Order of Merit.        Being human like everyone else Myron needed a steady family life, and to be able to settle down in one place.  Larisa helped very much in all this, especially as she had to change cultures and had to go through times when the couple had essentially no income and were being dogged by some of the weirdest of pseudo academic boneheads imaginable.  The real academic world is now taking intense interest in ECE, and Myron still has respect for such real academia because he remembers fondly being educated at an excellent university in one of the best chemistry departments in British history.  Myron believes kudos is nice of course, but a good family life is much better.        Both Myron’s first wife Laura and his second wife Larisa were a great help, as was the band of brothers who make up the staff of aias.  More recently the cooperation with Francesco has given Myron financial stability and a means to make his theories more widely known through an excellent film and has led to a lot of industrial and academic interest and enquiries.  Myron was invited to Buckingham Palace again in 2008, so things are going well and the interest and help of enlightened colleagues is of course greatly appreciated.    Kerry
