After some discussions in the background, Doug has finished a new paper in which he shows that the ECE engineering model can be brought into a form of wave equations for the potentials. It can be shown that the Lorenz gauge condition (and sometimes a generalization of it) is always valid as in MH theory. The set of wave equations can alternatively be used for numerical solutions. I will upload the paper to the AIAS web site.
