The entry is erroneous in several ways. It still uses the obsolete appellation “The Maxwell Equations”. The equations derived by Maxwell used quaternions, not vectors, they were a complicated system of about twenty equations. It was my Civil List predecessor Heaviside who derived the four vector equations incorrectly attributed to Maxwell. This is why I refer to them always as the Maxwell-Heaviside (MH) equations. Throughout the twentieth century they have been heavily criticised by many scholars, and of course wikipedia mentions none of this. My own contribution to this criticism was my inference of the B(3) field at Cornell in 1992, (see Omnia Opera papers on www.aias.us of 1992 to present). Despite the unscholarly attacks the B(3) field has been nominated (probably several times) for a Nobel Prize, this is an open secret. The Nobel Prize has become diluted, but one day they may see the light. The commutator method has been used in recent ECE papers to refute MH theory straightforwardly. It is a theory of special relativity in Minkowski spacetime and cannot describe the B(3) field observed in the inverse Faraday effect. In gauge theory it is referred to as having U(1) sector symmetry, but this claim is easily refuted through use of the conjugate product of non-linear optics. The conjugate product has to be introduced into MH theory in an ad hoc manner, it is not part of Heaviside’s original formulation. The ECE theory is a generally covariant theory in which electromagnetism and dynamics are both generally covariant. This is a highly successful unified field theory as measured by actual use. It is well known that the obsolete old guard tries to censor ECE theory by not publishing it. So if it is not published it cannot be cited. Therefore citations are suppressed and the tediously dishonest claim is made that there are few citations. The actual intense usage of ECE theory is measured by feedback software as in the attached overview. This interest continuously overwhelms the crackpots who hide behind anonymity on wikipedia.
