Relation to Sir Dafydd Gam (1351 – 1413)

by

Sir Dafydd Gam and I both descend from Bleddyn ap Maenarch Prince of Brycheiniog as show. Dafydd Gam was killed at Agincourt and appears in Shakespeare. His family became the Games family and his daughter Gwladus was married to Roger Vaughan (b.1377). Their son was Roger Vaughan of Tretower Court, now the oldest house in Wales kept by CADW (several websites). The great metaphysical poet Henry Vaughan was part of this family, which was related to the Herbert family which is related to the Royal family in other ways through the Earls of Pembroke. Thomas Herbert (1656 – 1733) was a statesman and President of the Royal Society.
